Cooking with the latest Bosch induction cooktop (PIL875N14E $3599) provides accurate temperature control as well as up to 50% faster results than with conventional cooktops. Instead of generating heat on the surface of the cooktop, induction cookers create heat directly in the base of the appropriate cookware. Because the heat is created in the pot the cooking surface remains cooler than conventional cooking surfaces, making it a safer option for the family.
The power boost function allows for greater power to selected zones. This saves time especially for larger pots that need to be heated quickly. The new DirectSelect feature takes the guesswork out of cooking and enables you to select the required power-level at the touch of a button instead of having to repeatedly press the +/- keys. And for those that are prone to making a mess, the WipeProtection freezes the control panel at its current settings allowing the surface to be wiped clean. This saves having to switch off the hob or disturb the setting. It reverts back, at the touch of the key, after about 20 seconds.
