Bosch has developed a new range of five vacuum cleaners, which recognizes that different people want different features. Some householders value energy efficiency above all else; others, dust elimination; and still others, flexibility.
The smartest vac in the range, the GL-40 Automatic (BSG4223AU $429) is able to detect the kind of floor surface it is vacuuming and automatically adjusts its suction power for optimal performance. It is also quieter and offers a more efficient clean. All models in the GL-40 range come with 2 cleaning tools that are stored on the machine.
Top of the range is the ErgoMaxx model BSG8PRO1AU at $799. This vac is for the cleaning perfectionist, but can be twisted and turned with no fear of damaging its elegant titanium-coloured, scratch-resistant finish. It comes with a crush-proof tube, four metal castor wheels and an accessory carry-case. Features include 1800W motor; silent and hygienic; robust woven material suction hose; 6-litre dust bag with change indicator; and an operating radius of 13m.
Other models in the range are:BSG81266AU ErgoMaxx at $599 with a 1200W motor; BSG82480AU ErgoMaxx at $529 with a 2400W motor; and the BSGL4200AU GL-40 at $329 with a 200W motor. All models are made in Germany.
