Acceptable Standards of Domestic Construction is an introductory guide to regulatory and design issues that need to be addressed before commencement of domestic construction.

The guide is set out as a breakdown of building elements from the footings to the roof cladding. The regulations and design issues are then discussed with text and diagrams for each element of the building.

However, the scope of the guide is limited, therefore included for each element is references to more in depth descriptions in the Building Code of Australia 1996 (BCA) and the Australian Standards. This recently revised edition includes a further 165 pages of timber span tables.
